Get in the Christmas spirit this week at this local annual event.

Once again, the Gellatly nut Farm will be turned into a winter wonderland. After dark, they’ll bring out the winter magic by illuminating the park.

The event is on starting Dec. 18, and runs until Dec. 22.

For the first three days, visitors can enjoy the lit up park from 4 pm until 7 pm, before the full festivities get underway on the weekend.

On Saturday and Sunday, there will be seasonal entertainment along with a warming tent with hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting.

Get some free hot cocoa – but bring a reusable cup! Volunteers will be giving tours of the Farm House both nights.

All proceeds from those sales will stay in the park, as they support heritage efforts by the GNF Society.

Limited parking will be available in the Nut Farm parking lot and on nearby streets on the weekday evenings, but not on the weekend.

Instead, a shuttle will be running that will take visitors from the parking lot at 3700 Carrington Road. to the Gellatly Nut Farm every 15 minutes between 4 pm and 7:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
